Woodhaven Unites exists to make sure residents can understand what is happening, participate before decisions are final and organize around outcomes that serve the whole neighborhood.
Woodhaven Unites exists to ensure that every resident has access to accurate information, meaningful opportunities to participate and confidence that community decisions are made openly, fairly and in the public interest.
Our lane
Research, public accountability and advocacy.
We are not trying to replace organizations that handle social events, beautification, neighborhood traditions or general programming. We focus on decisions involving public power, public money, major development and matters where residents need an independent voice.
That includes renters. Owning a home is not a condition of belonging to Woodhaven or having a stake in its future. Apartment residents should be heard directly—not only through owners, managers or dues-paying organizations.

One adult, one vote
Each eligible adult resident receives one vote after the waiting period.
Board independence
Current and recent officers of the Woodhaven Neighborhood Association or Woodhaven Community Development, Inc., elected officials, active candidates and covered campaign leaders cannot serve as directors.
Open records
Governance, minutes, budgets, financial reports and relevant conflict disclosures are published with private information protected.
How we are organizing
One Woodhaven Unites. Two separate nonprofit roles.
The structure is designed to keep charitable education and grant-funded work separate from lobbying and advocacy.
Woodhaven Unites Foundation, Inc.
Education, public information, community research, bilingual access, renter engagement, leadership development and charitable neighborhood programs. The proposed Foundation will maintain separate governance, finances and grant accounting.
Woodhaven Unites Action Fund, Inc.
Free resident membership, elections, organizing, petitions, lobbying and issue advocacy. The resident-voting structure and independent-election safeguards live on the advocacy side.
Coordinated, but not commingled.
A draft affiliation agreement governs shared branding, website resources, research, events and expenses so charitable resources do not subsidize Action Fund advocacy.
About the founder
Independent advocacy rooted in Woodhaven.
Woodhaven Unites was founded by Erika Graham, a Woodhaven resident who became involved in neighborhood advocacy during the proposed redevelopment of the former Woodhaven golf course. After seeing how difficult it could be for residents to obtain complete information, understand public processes and make their voices heard, she organized an independent grassroots effort to help neighbors stay informed and participate meaningfully in decisions affecting the community.
Erika created Woodhaven Unites as an independent, resident-focused resource—not as an arm of the Woodhaven Neighborhood Association, Woodhaven Community Development, Inc., any developer, political office or other organization. Its purpose is to make public records easier to access, distinguish documented facts from advocacy claims and provide Woodhaven residents with free and inclusive opportunities to share their views.
Her community service has also included work involving research ethics, civic engagement, voter education and public gardens. She believes effective neighborhood advocacy should be evidence-based, transparent and open to every resident—not limited by membership fees or organizational affiliation.
Woodhaven Unites is not intended to speak for every resident. It is intended to give every resident access to the information and opportunities needed to speak for themselves.
Organization status
Membership is open now. Incorporation and tax filings are still in progress.
Woodhaven Unites is already operating as an independent, resident-led civic organization. Residents may join now at no cost. The proposed Foundation and Action Fund are being organized as separate nonprofit entities, and contributions will not be accepted until the appropriate formation, banking and financial controls are in place.
Membership does not depend on a donation. Resident status may be reasonably verified before voting or other resident-member privileges are activated under the governing rules.
